Welcome to Erie's first and most experienced doggie daycare!
We're grateful that you're considering us! Check out what our customers are saying about Peninsula Pups on Facebook and Google!
Why should you choose Peninsula Pups?
- We
were the very first doggie daycare in Erie, opening in January 2011. We
have the MOST experience working with dogs in a daycare environment over
any daycare in the area.
- We
are first and foremost dog people. The dogs' safety will ALWAYS be
prioritized over making a buck.
- Our
Certified Dog Trainer & General Manager, Colin Keith, has nearly 30
years of experience working with dogs. Training naturally occurs
throughout the day by Colin and the Dog Handlers, at no extra cost. We
are a "working" daycare, keeping the dogs mentally stable and physically
safe.
- All dogs are supervised by trained Dog Handlers, working in each area, at all times. The dogs are NEVER out of sight of a human.
- We
temperament test EVERY dog before allowing them to come to daycare. We
do not put prospective dogs in with our daycare dogs to "see how they
do." We also do not have a pass/fail quota, i.e., we will never pass a
dog, who could jeopardize the safety of the other dogs, just to gain a
customer.
- We
have the largest and cleanest indoor air-conditioned facility of 6,000
sq ft. This allows just the right amount of space for the dogs to run
and play, but also for us to maintain control at all times. We also are
able to separate the dogs by size and personality into three areas,
which are T-ball (small dogs), Football (more sensitive dogs that need
more breaks from playing), and Soccer (high-energy dogs).
- We
have a kennel cough protocol and are 100% transparent about injuries and
illnesses. Dogs have teeth and nails, and no daycare is immune to
injuries. We will always be honest if anything out of the ordinary
happens with a dog, even if no injury occurred. There is absolutely no
reason to hide anything from the parents.
- We have the kindest, most patient, gifted Groomer, Sarah Weber. She grooms only one dog at a time which reduces the stress of grooming. Dogs can be groomed while at daycare and then go home clean and tired.
- I,
Liz Freitag, am an active owner. I know the dogs, their personalities,
and can even match a rogue poop with the dog who made it. I know that my
employees have huge hearts, outstanding skill, and I trust them
implicitly. I am Type A and will never cut corners or take the easy
route if the hard route is better. Peninsula Pups is my life, your dogs
are my life, and I welcome you to join the family we have created at
Peninsula Pups.
The daycare is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm. Additional hours are available for training classes and grooming appointments. Feel free to visit us any time during business hours to tour the daycare or contact us if you have any questions.
